A very active week with the front left fender of the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie now fully completed including the small locker for the snow chain. The right hand side fender work starts on Monday and will be finished a few days later. The rear antenna mounts for this Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie are done. All that remains is for the antenna frame support posts to be fitted and the top sections machined and fitted to the frame. The front antenna bases are now being completed. An original rest for one of these was found this week in a miscellaneous parts grouping. These will all be complete within next week. The before and after views are below.
A long awaited late antenna base for Jagdpanther 411 has been tracked down. This is yet another of the issues listed under the Department of Corrections banner to be addressed for the Jagdpanther. The list should be resolved by the Members Open Day Jagdpanther Day on June 17th this year.
The work on the VW166 Schwimmwagen is now complete. The front brakes are now in very good working order. This was most unfortunate as the front axle had been fully rebuilt for us a a few years ago. Note to oneself put out at one’s own peril. The current maintenance project involves the Willys Jeep where the main brake cylinder and rear brake cylinder have had to be rebuilt.
