The conservation work continues on the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie chassis. The left rear wheel station is in focus at present, the main prop shaft and gear change shat were completed earlier on this week.
The doors for the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie will be tidied up next week. We are very fortunate to have original doors more so an original Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie example. As mentioned above the doors for our Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie are also on the way. These should also be kicked off this week with the fittings being reunited with the doors. The hinges are ready for both the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie and Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie. These are different as our research has proven. The various correct hinges have been collected and will be fitted in due course.
The lubrication lines, oil pump and guard have now been fitted to the Sd.Kfz.223 4.Serie gearbox. This now complete gearbox will be fitted to the chassis next week. We are still awaiting the drive shaft couplings for the front left and right wheel stations to enable final fitting of the differential.
