Fitting Sd.Kfz.223 interior, instrument panel, Stationsuhr, Horch V8, antenna hoist….

The detailed fitting of the interior has commenced in earnest. The parts long ago prepared for this point are now being fitted to the crew cabin area around the driver and radio operator. The seats are now taking shape. The driver’s seat (different to to the Sd.Kfz.222) is already in hand. The Funker (radio operator) seat different yet again we have in pristine original form is currently being fitted with an upholstered base and back.

The radio operator’s clock Stationsuhr has now been fitted to its original base within the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie . This is between the two plate visors of the driver and radio operator. We will be providing our research into the clock and its base in a forthcoming Inside Track article.

The Horch 3.5 V8 engine piping is in focus given the early engine configuration of our 1939 assembled vehicle. The HT leads are in a very different arrangement to the later le.Pz.Sp.Wg.

The antenna hoist has been assembly fitted and removed to allow for the final paint treatment before being fitted for the final time….

Have a good weekend
