Rebuilding of the engine for the Sd.Kfz.222 4 Serie continues. Current focus is on the connecting rods. They face grinding shortly to allow for the new shells for the engine.
The oil filler neck for the engine has been resolved for both 3.5 litre engines. This breakthrough was due to the research conducted over the past year. A new oil filler neck top has now been crafted for the Sd.Kfz.223 4 Serie s is to be We have located the filler cap for 3.8 litre V8 of the Sdf.Kfz.261 5 Serie. The neck and cap research for the 3.8 litre V8 has started in this week’s Inside Track – our weekly online magazine for members.
The project to recreate the oil coolers for the three 3.5 litre V8 Horch engines has been commissioned. It will be a minimum of 6 weeks until we can expect delivery.
The other important project – the spinning of the filler caps and necks for the Sd.Kfz.222 4 Serie, Sd.Kfz.223 4 Serie and the Sd.Kfz.223 3 Serie has at last started to yield good results. Mid February is the expected completion date for these rare devices. See main image.
All the suppressed distributor units and fittings have been gathered. We require 3 of these plus an additional example for the Sd.Kfz.223 4 Serie. These will all need to be refurbished.
The registration number plate for the Sd.Kfz.222 4 Serie is slowly emerging. This amazing discovery will probably conclude in a months time. Very exciting. 5 numbers have been identified so far.
