Sd.Kfz 222 4 Serie, Sd.Kfz 223 3 Serie, Sd.Kfz 261 5 Serie

The radiator taps have now been drawn. These have been drawn in 3D to allow them to be printed in brass. Each of these taps are unique to the Werk Horch A.G range and will be fitted to the Sd.Kfz 222 4 Serie, Sd.Kfz 223 3 Serie and the Sd.Kfz 261 5 Serie radiators. The interior of the Sd.Kfz.222 4 Serie continues. We have mapped and positioned more fittings into the interior this week. This work will continue until we have all issues resolved. The complication is we have the only 4 Serie Sd.Kfz.222 in the world – an exciting challenge. Planning for the restoration of the 3.5 litre Horch V8 engines for these armoured cars is ongoing. Our current area of focus is with the cylinder heads.

Planning for the two Sd.Kfz.250 le.S.P.W. light armoured halftracks has begun. We are gathering the required parts together well prior to the project start date. We have time so our chances to gather all of the required parts is high. We fortunately have most of the parts and are primarily looking for the small fittings. These will be our 6th and 7th Sd.Kfz.250 armoured halftracks we have restored. We have also made a startling discovery of the correct antenna base for our 4 Serie Sd.Kfz.222 and it is in ours stores. The only example out there! This finding has been published in this week’s Inside Track online magazine.

Planning for the restoration of the 3.5 litre Horch V8 engines is ongoing. Our current area of focus is with the cylinder heads. A group of those from our stores (early and late versions) are pictured with the first draft proof castings. These will still need some work as there a number of differences with the late examples.

Have a good and safe weekend!!
