Sd.Kfz 223 3 Serie Ausf A, Sd.Kfz 261 Ausf.B, Zundapp KS 750, Indian Pattern (New Zealand) Wheeled Carrier

The work on the armoured hull on the Sd.Kfz 223 has progressed well this week. The forward section of the armoured hull is now fully reassembled and a few tabs have to be fitted next week. The rear of the armoured hull has been set up on a jig awaiting assembly of the other plates next week. The chassis components are being blasted and primed ready to be assembled and fitted to the chassis once it is painted in the correct colour. The paint will be ordered next week now that the official paint analysis has been completed. The differential is now well underway to be restored and is laid out on the work bench (see image).

The Sd.Kfz 261 has been dipped to remove any excess rust and has been coated with a rust inhibitor primer. We will collect the chassis next week whereupon it will be put into storage awaiting its time for restoration. Additional original armoured Radpanzer wheel hub armour round covers have been located to now complete the full set of required examples for the Sd.Kfz 261.

We are starting the edit of many hours of video footage of all that has been worked on to date with the Sd.Kfz 223 and Sd.Kfz 261 chassis and armoured hulls. These will result in our first Weald Foundation Youtube and Patreon project film productions.

Our latest acquisition of 2 New Zealand Wheeled Pattern Carriers is now complete. We are due to collect the vehicles in the next fortnight once the requisite space has been cleared.

The magneto for the Zundapp KS750 is being rewound and remagnetized. We are very excited to see the result of this work on the bike’s performance once it has been refitted.
