Weald Foundation Members are invited to attend the Open Day 18 June 2022

Saturday 18 June 2020 10:00 – 16.00

Members and their guests are invited to participate in the Foundation’s launch of the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie leichte Panzer Spähwagen and full supporting program.

Three of the Foundation’s Trustees will give the following presentations:

  • Hilary Louis Doyle (Panzer Tracts author) will discuss the latest research findings on the wartime design, use and production of the Sd.Kfz.222 le.Pz.Sp.Wg.(Light Reconnaissance Cars).
  • Michael Gibb (Founder) will cover the restoration and research detective work for the armoured cars.
  • Jim Dowdall (Renowned stuntman) will provide an insight into the BMW R75 and Zündapp KS750 heavy motorcycle sidecar outfits and the use of these by the Wehrmacht and a short inclusion re the use of original and post war (fake) bikes in famous war movies.

Some of the Foundation’s future projects will be available for preview. Restored vehicles will participate in a mobile display (weather permitting) and will be available for members to examine and discuss. 

Given the success of the last Weald Foundation Open Day, numbers must be strictly controlled. You should register early to avoid disappointment.
